Comer Pathway Books Donated
West Hartsville Elementary School would like to thank the following local area businesses for their support of the P.U.L.S.E. Comer Program that is funded by the Sonoco Products Foundation:
Anderson Brass Company
Norton Funeral Home
Burry Bookstore
Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home
These four businesses donated $300.00 so that West Hartsville Elementary School purchase books that support the Six Comer Develpmental Pathways. Each book has a bookplate thanking the business and has been put into our Media Center Computer System so teachers, students, and parents may easily check the books out at any time.
Some examples of our new books that support the Six Comer Developmental Pathways are listed below:
- “Germs Make Me Sick” by Melven Berger-This book discusses the way a student can stay healthy by washing their hands and sneezing without spreading germs. This book supports the Physical Developmental Pathway.
- “Heroes for My Son” by Brad Meltzer-This is a wonderful book that discusses the amazing things that some very famous people chose to do in order to reach their potential in life. This book supports the Psychological Developmental Pathway.
A total of twenty-nine books were purchased with these genereous donations. We have an additional thirty books that we are trying to purchase to complete the reccommended Comer Pathway Reading List.
